Norski SC Uniform Information

Norski SC uniforms are ordered and paid for directly through Stefan’s Soccer. Norski SC is an Adidas club meaning the shorts, socks & training accessories are Adidas branded gear.

As of the 2024-25 season, we are moving to uniform shirts that are a sublimated moisture wicking and breathable t-shirt style jersey (non- Adidas brand). They are printed to order, allowing for a decreased risk of back-orders & shortages.

This cost is separate from the player registration fees for 9U and older teams.

Each Norski SC family will have a Stefan’s account invite for the current season with their player/players loaded into the account for the convenience of re-ordering additional pieces (whether, lost, outgrown or looking for extra). There will be an individual invite for each player in a Household & families are able to use the same main email & log in for all players.

Shortly after team rosters are announced, the primary email address in the Household (used to register the NSC player) will receive an invitation to order a uniform kit from Stefan’s. Uniform ordering periods are during the first weeks of July and the last weeks of February. Additional pieces can be ordered throughout the year & may take additional processing time. 

All NSC players ages 9U-19U must wear our Norski uniform which features our purple/black jersey, white/purple alternate jersey, Adidas black team shorts, and Adidas black socks. Norski SC is a member of WAYSA (Wisconsin Area Youth Soccer Association) & MAYSA (Madison Area Soccer Association) - both of these associations require full uniforms to include standardized socks and shorts for each club participating in sanctioned competitive games and tournaments.  Please see the NSC Uniform Policy on our website for additional information and age-appropriate game day guidelines.

A few things to note:

• Uniforms will be shipped directly to you or they will need to be picked up from Stefan’s Soccer (on the west side of Madison). 

• Norski SC strives to get two years out of a uniform-style cycle (our current cycle starts with the 2024-2025 season). When ordering, please order to allow for player growth and for layering underneath the jersey & shorts in cold weather. 

• NSC strives to keep jersey numbers consistent, however, numbers may change if there are large fluctuations within an age group, especially if age groups happen to combine multiple birth years. This means, just because you had a number in one ordering cycle, it does not mean you will have the same number during the next order cycle.

• If you have multiple children, you will be able to see them as different orders going to one email. 

• Stefan’s has samples available in their store located at 6620 Odana Road, Madison, WI 53719. (608) 826-4222. We attempt to have sizing sessions before each ordering period, but this is not always possible.

All safety, game, and training requirements follow the minimum MAYSA, WYSA and USYSA guidelines for club soccer.

Norski SC asks parents to please take ownership of the safety requirements - do not let the responsibility fall solely to the Coaches!

For everyone’s safety, foot attire & jewelry policies apply to BOTH games and practice.

Any players requiring splints or casts must be cleared by the MAYSA offices prior to play with splint or casts. 

Jewelry (all ages): 

For everyone’s safety, NO jewelry is allowed at any time. This includes any and all piercings on the head. No chains, watches or rubber wristbands. Sweat style headbands and wristbands are allowed, hard hair clips and pins are not.

Foot & Shin Attire (all ages):

Players must have proper foot and shin attire to participate. This includes either Soccer cleats or “sneaker” (tennis) shoes. Baseball, softball, football or golf style cleat patterns are not allowed. If your team plays a winter indoor session, please see your team’s specific facility guidelines. All players must wear shin guards covered by socks or other athletic attire at all times.

Training attire (U9-U19):

All competitive age players (9U and older) should be in appropriate athletic style shorts, training pants and shirts that are acceptable for training in. No jeans or other attire with heavy embellishments. In an effort to allow the DOC and coaches to easily differentiate teams with simple practice vests, we ask all competitive age players to wear upper body attire that is black, gray or white to their trainings. 

 

Game Day Jersey Requirements by Age

In-House Kinderkickers (U4-U5), In-House Junior Academy (U6-U7) & In-Hosue Academy (U8):

Athletic attire, must wear provided shirt to each training session. No need to order uniforms. Jersey/Uniform kit is handed out at the beginning of the season. Uniform/jersey must be worn to games.

9U-19U Teams:

All players must purchase all the pieces of the club’s current official on field uniform. This includes specified shorts, home and away jerseys, and socks. All jerseys must be maintained so the club logo and club assigned number are visible to officials. (In order to get the maximum life out of your jersey it is recommended that you do not dry with high heat, the lower the heat setting the better or hang dry).  

Exceptions:

Goalies: Must wear attire that is different enough from all field players so that they are identifiable to the referees. This can be done with practice game vests or goalie shirts. Goalie gloves allowed.

Cold weather: These guidelines are subject to referee interpretation, player age and conditions. The jersey and number must be visible at all times no matter what the conditions. Layers can go underneath the jersey; it should be team color, black, gray or white. This can include sweats, coats, and long underwear style products. Layers of athletic attire are allowed on the legs, this includes sweat pants, long underwear, tights, and leggings, and they should be black, gray or team colored. Gloves without clips or rings are allowed. For youth simple knit gloves for more advanced players sport gloves are recommended. Headbands, ear bands, beanies and ski caps that are tight to the head are allowed. Most referees will disallow hats that have any type of ball or tip that swings off the hat for safety reasons. Ear muffs with hard bands are not allowed.
